OUR SPIRIT
The spirit of Juneteenth is inclusive of all as we celebrate this momentous occasion.
On June 19, 1865 Major Gen. Gordon Granger came to Galveston, Texas, to inform the community that President Abraham Lincoln, two years earlier, had freed slaves. Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated on June 19 that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

Volunteers are crucial to the success of the Juneteenth Celebration. From serving on the board to directing traffic the day of, we need you. Juneteenth Statesville has been celebrating Juneteenth since 1995, in Statesville, NC.
